CHOOSING THE RIGHT FLOOR

Whether it’s a sprung floor system or portable dance surface, the choice of dance floor is one of the most important artistic and business decisions that most dance companies, studios and schools will ever make.

VINYL/MARLEY FLOORS

Marley floors can be used alone or as a dance surface on a sprung sub-floor. Some are specially formulated to give controlled slip resistance providing better protection from the risk of slipping and falling.

SPRUNG FLOOR SYSTEMS

With increasing awareness of health and safety legislation, it is always advisable to consider the possibility of a sprung floor. Sprung floors provide some degree of bounce and flex under impact. Performers need this to absorb shock and protect their joints from injury, especially when performing jumps.

HOME STUDIOS

A home dance studio can ensure dancers practice safely at home, secure in the knowledge that it is not only the choice of professionals, but endorsed by specialists in dance medicine who stress the importance of having the right floor.
