Price

That will depend upon the type of floor you’re looking for, the area you wish to cover, if you need it installed, where you’re based, etc. It would be difficult to provide a general price on our website without that information. Therefore, please contact us for a quote, samples, additional information and/or product availability.
Harlequin Floors can be bought directly from American Harlequin Corporation for locations in North, South and Latin America as well as the Caribbean. We have operations worldwide; please visit our ‘Contact’ section for the Harlequin Group in your region.
We currently do not sell Harlequin floors online.

Vinyl Floors

We supply ten different vinyl roll out floors: Harlequin Allegro, Harlequin Cascade, Harlequin Fiesta, Harlequin FreeStyle, Harlequin Hi-Shine, Harlequin Marine, Harlequin Reversible, Harlequin Standfast, Harlequin Studio and Harlequin Studio B. Additionally, we supply TV Tiles and Tap Tiles.
Marley Floors Ltd originally manufactured a double-sided floor for dance but their production line closed in 1977. Their Export Sales Manager, Bob Dagger decided to set up Harlequin Floors and began production of the same floor, which he called Harlequin Reversible. Many people still ask for a ‘Marley floor’ instead of a vinyl floor.
A permanent vinyl floor is glued down with adhesive and can’t be removed without risking damage to the floor. A portable vinyl floor is rolled out and the seams are either covered with tape or temporarily secured to the sub-floor on the underside with double-sided tape.
Yes, but only when you use it in dry conditions or it’s under cover. If it gets wet then it will become very slippery. If it’s placed in the sun then it will heat up, so try to use lighter colors that stay cooler for barefoot performances.
Ideally you should store the rolls vertically, but that’s not always possible. For instance, you may have to lay them flat in transit. In this case, take care not to store them two or three high and not to lay heavy angular props or flight cases on top of them. It is also better to store them horizontally instead of at an angle, which can produce pressure folds on the bottom edge, leading to distortion when you unroll the floor.
They’re designed to stand up to gruelling tour schedules and if looked after carefully, will last many years. We have customers who still use floors that they bought from us 25 years ago!
Technically, they’re freeze tolerant but like all vinyls, they get harder and stiffer as the temperature drops. However, when the temperature rises they return to normal. If the weather’s cold, the best advice when taking delivery is to get them inside as soon as possible.
A Harlequin vinyl floor can be laid onto most level sub-floors, e.g. concrete, wood or tiles, although we don’t advise laying onto carpet. If a sub-floor isn’t very level or unacceptably hard, then a Harlequin sprung floor can be used in conjunction with a Harlequin surface (vinyl floor, hardwood or engineered board). If you are worried whether your existing floor is suitable, check with us first.
Harlequin vinyl floors are manufactured in rolls, which are available in widths of either 1.5m or 2m, depending on the product chosen. The roll length of a Harlequin vinyl floor varies and will also depend upon the chosen product.
Ensure that the floor is rolled up correctly using the cardboard core it came on, as it’s important to avoid flattening and distorting the roll. You can then use Harlequin vinyl floor roll straps to keep the roll in place. If you need to transport or store the floor, you can use Harlequin vinyl floor storage bags.

Sprung Floors

We supply five sprung floors that are Harlequin Activity, Harlequin AeroDeck, Harlequin Liberty, Harlequin Liberty LatchLoc and Harlequin WoodSpring.
This depends upon the Harlequin sprung floor you choose. Harlequin Activity and Harlequin WoodSpring must be installed by our highly skilled technical team. This is also true of Harlequin Liberty, although you can install this yourself. Our modular sprung floors systems, Harlequin AeroDeck and Harlequin Liberty LatchLoc can be self-installed.
Yes, but only when you use it in dry conditions or it’s under cover and it’s placed on a flat surface. For example, cobbles and grass would not provide a good base for a Harlequin sprung floor. Harlequin AeroDeck is suitable for outdoor use.

Yes, both our sprung and vinyl floors can be installed by our highly skilled technical team, as part of our total package to ensure your new floor is correctly installed and fully compliant with current regulations and standards.

Very few stage activities will result in permanent markings.

Stage

Black is a popular choice but gray works well too. It’s a special tonal mix of black and white with no pigmentation, that lights like a dream and gives your lighting director exciting possibilities. There’s also TV white – a paler, non-pigmented gray, which looks white on color TV.

Warranty

All of our vinyl floors carry a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty. Sprung floors carry a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty – provided there is no evidence of unreasonable use.
