Harlequin Floors is proud to have sponsored and supplied new sprung flooring for the Kaatsbaan’s Cultural Park’s Mountain Stage. On Sunday, at the Mountain Stage, the Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) honored its Founder and Artistic Director Mikhail Baryshnikov’s 75th birthday with a day of performances and celebration.
The stage features Harlequin Liberty® HD sprung floor panels and Harlequin Cascade™ vinyl performance surface.
Co-presented by BAC and Kaatsbaan Cultural Park, the event featured an afternoon concert on Kaatsbaan’s idyllic 153-acre property by some of the definitive voices in music. The lineup included influential musicians of the 20th and 21st centuries whose work has inspired Mr. Baryshnikov throughout his life in the U.S., according to the Baryshnikov Arts website.
Artists included American avant-garde artist, composer, and musician Laurie Anderson, Canadian jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall, Russian–born American singer, songwriter, and pianist Regina Spektor, and North America’s leading practitioner of Japanese flutes and percussion Kaoru Watanabe.
The program also featured musical performances by Russian rock musician Boris Grebenshikov and choreographer Mark Morris, a work-in-progress performance by Pam Tanowitz Dance, and remarks by actress Anna Baryshnikov.
