Dance Teacher has hosted an annual Dance Teacher Award ceremony over the last 20 years totalling over 100 awardees. Proceeds from the cocktail party, fund the Dance Teacher Scholarship at MOVE|NYC|.

This year, Harlequin Floors was delighted to be invited as a guest to attend the ceremony and celebrate the awardees and their contributions to the dance community. The Dance Teacher Awards Selection Committee chose:

• Awardee of Distinction – Ana Marie Forsythe
• Sheila Barker
• Hilary Cartwright
• Irene Dowd
• Caridad Martinez

These five dance educators have been recognized for their contributions and prestigious roles in the dance community. Here is what a few of them had to say about their time as educators and to the dance community as a whole for receiving their awards!
