Harlequin Dance Mat Keeps Everyone Dancing

As the COVID-19 pandemic forced most studios to temporarily close earlier this year, many dancers moved their practice to their homes.  Practicing on floors in most homes isn’t only difficult, it can be dangerous.  Without a proper dance surface, a dancer is putting themselves at risk with every jump and turn. Harlequin Floors provides professional dance floors for top companies around the world; now you can dance on one at home

.

While Harlequin has offered a small, portable practice mat for years, they recognized the need for a larger mat that could be used for home practice and virtual classes.  The Harlequin Dance Mat is 78” x 39” – large enough for jumps and routines.  It can be laid over any hard, smooth surface.

Harlequin also offers a Dance Mat Kit that includes two Dance Mats and one roll of PVC tape to secure them together and create a larger 6.5” x 6.5” surface, ideal for partner work.  Freestanding ballet barres are available to complete your home studio. Major dance companies around the country recognized that their dancers needed a proper dance surface at home; American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, and Joffrey Ballet are just a few that have shipped Harlequin Dance Mats to their dancers.
