Have you heard of #DorkDancing? If not, you soon may. The dancing phenomenon has been growing in popularity in the Denver, Colorado area, and it’s all for a good cause.
This “dorky” form of expression began in Da Nang, Vietnam, as a response to the COVID-19 lockdown. Since then, it has made its way to the states and has become a free dance movement in association with mental health advocacy. The dance therapy is free-flowing and can be any form of dance a person desires.

According to a recent press release, “dork dancing is about building community, care and connection and forging a culture of play, openness & togetherness that dissolves mental health stigma, cultivates resilience, and reveals strength.”
